What I do
Locks, doors and the bits
that go wrong at 11pm.
Domestic and commercial work across South Shields and the North East. If it locks, latches, or has stopped closing properly, it is probably something I can sort.
Lockouts and gaining entry
Key snapped, key left in the back of the door, or a door that has locked itself with the keys still inside. Non destructive entry wherever the lock allows it.
Lock changes and new barrels
Euro cylinders and barrels swapped for new, whether the old one has failed, been damaged, or you have simply moved in and want your own keys.
uPVC and composite door locks
Handles, cylinders and keeps on uPVC and composite front and back doors. The most common call there is, and the bread and butter of the work.
Multipoint mechanisms
When the handle lifts but nothing engages, the gearbox inside the door has usually gone. Measured up and replaced with the right unit for your door.
Door adjustment and realignment
A door that catches, drops or needs a shoulder to shut is putting strain on the lock. Often it is an adjustment rather than a new mechanism.
Garage door locks
Up and over and sectional garage doors, including new cylinders fitted to Hormann units. One reviewer called on a Saturday evening for a garage emergency.
Commercial doors and hardware
Fire doors, overhead closers and heavy duty hinges on commercial entrances. Not just domestic work, shops and premises across the North East too.
Window and glazing units
Sealed units lifted out and replaced, along with the window locks and handles that go with them.

Most lock jobs look simple until the door is open. One customer had a key snapped in the back of the door and the job turned out to be a lot more involved than it first looked. In her words, I never stopped, and let her know each step.
That is the bit that matters. A gearbox gets measured before it gets ordered. A door that catches gets adjusted rather than forced. If your front door needs a lift and some oil while I'm already there for the back one, it gets it.

Locks rarely fail at a convenient time. The phone is on 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and the reviews back that up. One customer messaged late on a Friday night and had a new front door lock fitted within the hour. Another called on a Saturday evening at short notice with a garage emergency, and had a door lock changed while I was there.
No drama, no lectures about how you should have had a spare cut. Just the door open and the lock working again.

“Called Jamie as we couldn't get in due to a key left in the back of door. He came within the timeframw given. Turned out the job was a lot more difficult than first noted. He never stopped, and let us know each step. A lovely, genuine young man. He's in my phone now in case ever needed again. Can't fault the cost either.”
